Examples
Here, you will find some examples of metadata files which are interpreted by the Viewer. These examples do not cover all of the possibilities provided by the Viewer, they rather constitute simple versions of valid METS files to make it easier to get used to the system. Both examples implement the page-based document model.
The minimal version is reduced to the absolutely required elements and is very easy to implement.
Example for the minimal version: as an XML file and in the Viewer.
Even though the following example also constitutes a simple version, it also contains a number of additional elements which provide further resolutions, persistent identifiers and a VD17 identifier to the Viewer.
Example of the simple version: as an XML file and in the Viewer.
The two linked examples above are pure METS files. However, the Viewer also permits the submission of metadata in the framework of an OAI request as an option. The following example shows what this might look like.
In addition, you will find further elements, which are, however, not interpreted by the Viewer. Since, on principle, the Viewer is error-tolerant towards unknown elements, the format can be expanded without any problems in the context of other applications.
